  • Passionate about supporting the Armed Forces community and honouring their contribution
  • Come to work each day to be the best you can and to learn and develop
  • An encourager, eager to share your knowledge and experience to help others

If so then we would like you hear from you…

The Role

The Royal British Legion has recently undergone a big change. We are now more accessible, easier to reach and provide a more integrated service for the Armed Forces Community. Our regional teams are striving to reach out to those we support and build new partnerships with GP surgeries, hospitals, local authority services and charities. Our aim is to fully engage with and support those who need our help across the country.

As a Case Officer, you will work with individuals eligible for Legion assistance. To help them to access the right support in a timely and seamless way in areas such as finance, employment, health, housing advice or to overcoming temporary crises. You will also support the work of our volunteer caseworkers. A self-starter, confident at working independently, you will be responsible for supporting and building relationships with statutory bodies and other agencies to maximise our reach and impact.

An experienced and customer focused case manager, assured in advocating on behalf of clients, you will have a good understanding of the UK benefits system  and  be used to working across multiple agencies. You’ll also need to be a strong team player, with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

It is essential that you have an empathy with the UK armed forces community and some knowledge and understanding of this area would also be an advantage.

A full driving licence and use of a car is essential as although the role will be primarily based in West Yorkshire, it will require some travel around Yorkshire more widely.
