The Royal British Legion – Head of Grants and Social Policy

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

It’s an exciting time to join The Royal British Legion as we embark on a new five year strategy. We plan to further develop our advice, information and support services to reach even more people in the Armed Forces community. We will ensure that our grant programmes are delivered in as targeted and impactful a manner as possible.

You will lead a team responsible for assessing, awarding and fulfilling more than 15,000 grants to households and organisations each year, ranging in size from small one-off grants providing household goods, to multi-year strategic partnerships improving thousands of lives and exploring new methods of service provision.

You will be an experienced manager and grant maker. You are accustomed to troubleshooting problems, being accountable for a significant and multifaceted budget, identifying opportunities for process and policy improvement, and working with a broad range of internal and external partners. Your role will include learning and dissemination, and ensuring that the Legion’s grant programmes are responsive to changing need.

Applications are invited from those who meet the majority of the criteria in the job description and have the appetite to gain new skills in a busy (and highly rewarding) environment.
