The Role

RBL’s strategy involves the successful delivery of a wide range of projects.  Our current change portfolio includes the building of new care homes, implement new services for beneficiaries, large IT transformation programme and the delivery remembrance-focussed events.

The corporate Programme Management Office (PMO) is tasked with supporting these projects. The small team works with project managers across the charity, ensuring that projects are delivered in line with best practice, and providing guidance around project planning and budgeting, risk management and change control. It also tracks the delivery of projects and the dependencies between them, reporting regularly to the Executive Board, (EB) and Assistant Directors group.

It operates a Business Partner model; the current vacancy will be particularly focussed on projects sponsored by Operations directorate, HR and Director Generals office. This is an exciting time to join the busy PMO team – particularly given this role’s support for large projects marking the 2018 Centenary.

The role will be extremely varied, and any given day may involve facilitating workshops of senior stakeholders, quality assuring project plans, looking for cost-saving opportunities within project budgets and compiling reports for the EB. There may also be the requirement to directly manage projects – particularly during their inception, ensuring that benefits and scope are defined, and the implementation of appropriate governance structures. Often the role will require the production of high quality deliverables to demanding deadlines.

You will be an experienced change professional, comfortable working flexibly across silos and at different organisational levels. You will be highly experienced in waterfall project methodologies, and passionate about the benefits of deploying Agile tools and techniques within this framework.

Regular travelling around the UK is a requirement of this position.
