The Role

The Royal British Legion’s Information Management and Technology Directorate (IM&T) delivers technology solutions and services to 1,600 staff at more than 50 locations nationally. The Project Assurance Manager plays a key role in that delivery by ensuring that IM&T projects are set up and run in accordance with the Legion’s governance framework and that they are being delivered according to recognised best practice in project management.

The Project Assurance Manager will possess excellent communication skills and will bring these to bear in producing reports for the Legion’s Executive Board that provide insightful commentary on the health of individual projects and of the IM&T portfolio as a whole.

The role involves close and effective working with teams from across IM&T, with project stakeholders and third party service providers and with the Legion’s Finance, PMO and Risk functions, so interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are key. Commercial awareness and the ability to understand and interpret financial statements and to contribute to budgeting processes will also be essential.

The Project Assurance Manager will use strong planning and organising skills to drive IM&T’s project reporting regime.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the project management lifecycle and of the challenges and complexities of project delivery.
