The Royal British Legion’s Outreach Service supports beneficiaries and their families to find practical and long-lasting ways to achieve their potential, lead more fulfilling lives and take responsibility for their own future. We are seeking to recruit a Regional Lead to lead the professional and case work practice of a group of geographically dispersed Regional Outreach Officers, ensuring that the service is delivered in accordance with nationally agreed standards and delivers personalised, outcome focussed, flexible support in accordance with Legion policies and best practice.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to lead the team to deliver a high quality, person-centred Outreach service across the Midlands region, Able to work under your own initiative, you will have a passion for supporting and engaging beneficiaries whose issues may include being a recent prison leaver, homelessness, domestic violence, alcohol or drug dependency, or mental health issues. In addition to leading the Midlands team, you will carry a client caseload across the East Midlands Area dealing with complex needs, conducting multi-agency and partnership work as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will possesses excellent management skills, supervision or leadership experience within an advice setting, combined with a relevant sector qualification  e.g, qualification in Substance misuse and addiction, mental health, housing and homelessness, criminal justice and offending. Proven experience of working in the homeless sector (within a hostel or undertaking outreach in the community) or criminal justice combined with knowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues in regard to accessing services for clients is essential.

The post is home based requiring travel regularly for meetings, carrying out appointments and attending training.  Extensive travel is required across the Midlands Region with prominence in the East Midlands (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland), a full driving license is essential.

The role is subject to relevant employment checks, including Enhanced DBS Clearance.
