We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Trusts Officer to join our team at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our long-term income growth strategy by cultivating relationships with trusts, foundations, and grant-giving organisations to secure funding.
As the Trusts Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations, and grant-giving organisations. This includes conducting research, preparing high-quality grant/funding applications, and submitting timely feedback reports to donors. You will work closely with all departments to develop compelling funding proposals that align with funders’ priorities and contribute to the objectives of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Your key responsibilities will include identifying new funding opportunities, developing compelling cases for support to maintain relationships with existing funders, achieving annual income targets, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in our database. Working to the Trusts and Foundations Manager you will steward new and existing prospects and develop cultivation plans to build strong relationships with donors.
To excel in this role, you should possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), enabling you to forge strong working relationships with stakeholders, staff, and beneficiaries. You must be highly organised, detail-oriented, and have a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. A good understanding of the voluntary sector funding environment is essential.
While you will primarily work independently, providing expert advice and support, you will also be an integral part of our team. You may be required to work out of hours to support events, and flexibility in this regard will be appreciated.
Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience in raising funds from charitable trusts and foundations, managing donor relationships, and achieving income growth. Knowledge of fundraising standards and current legislation, along with proficiency in CRM databases and relevant IT tools, and a commitment to supporting veterans, would be beneficial.
If you are looking for a role that contributes to the lives of our Chelsea Pensioners and the long-term sustainability of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, then we look forward to receiving your application.
The closing date for this role is 9 June 2023. This is a full time and permanent role working 41 hours per week. The salary range for this role is £32,000 – £35,000.
