Royal Star & Garter was founded in 1916 to care for the severely injured young men returning from the battlegrounds of the First World War. Today, we provide an outstanding range of quality care and therapies to veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia.
We are a vibrant charity and regulated care provider. We operate three high quality Homes in Solihull, Surbiton & High Wycombe, where we deliver specialist nursing care and award-winning dementia care, together with a varied and engaging programme of activities, which enable residents to remain independent and enjoy life to the full.

Main purpose of the role:
- Support long-term growth and sustainability through developing and implementing a dynamic financial and investment strategy.
- Ensure charity operations are commercially astute and financially sustainable.
- Provide engaging, visible leadership to foster financial effectiveness.
- Support the Governors and directors with financial planning, oversight, and to deliver statutory responsibilities.
- Ensure effective stewardship of financial resources.
The Candidate
Will have a:
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Track record of results in a senior financial leadership role.
- Strategic approach to finance within a complex organisation.
- Passion for and experience of driving digital transformation.
- Depth of commercial experience in relatable sectors with a care or consumer focus (social care, healthcare, charity, or education)
- Uncompromising approach to quality, setting high standards.
