Scottish Veterans’ Residences – IT Manager

£35,000-£37,000 pa   

Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR),  Scotland’s oldest military charity (SC012739), supports former Armed Forces and Merchant Navy personnel, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who otherwise need housing support. We seek to maximise their independence and provide support to move on to appropriate, permanent accommodation wherever possible. Supported Veterans each have their own fully furnished en-suite room and access to all the facilities and support on site. Our facilities include a modern dining rooms providing all our residents with  meals, as well as gyms, libraries and laundry services. We have residences in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. SVR is a charitable housing association and a Registered Social Landlord. We are regulated by the Scottish Housing Regulator, the Care Inspectorate and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

We are completing a digitalisation programme to improve the service we provide for Veterans, the analysis, exploitation and visualisation of data, and the security and governance of our IT estate. We are seeking an IT Manager.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this is a pivotal  role  in supporting our services for Veterans and represents a fantastic career opportunity for the successful candidate.

ABOUT YOU

A qualified IT professional with strong analytical and communication skills, you will shine within a dedicated and busy Senior Management Team as we continue our exciting digitilisation journey. Responsible for management of  the organisation’s IT, you will lead on IT policy setting,  hardware, systems and liaison with external contractors.  You will embed our  Values to work collaboratively and  supportively to fulfil our Vision and Mission.

With previous experience of providing high quality and effective  IT services in digitised organisations, you will be a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative. You are consistent, focused, and flexible in both your outlook and approach.
