Sky-High Tribute: Fundraisers honour Blesma Member Patrick Burns with charity skydive

David Walton and Jessica House completed an 11,000-foot skydive in support of Blesma, the Limbless Veterans charity, and in memory of Patrick Burns, a  Blesma member and former paratrooper.

Patrick, who served in the armed forces, tragically lost his leg in an IED explosion while on tour in Afghanistan. Despite such a life-changing injury, he refused to let adversity define him. Instead, he channeled his determination into helping others, becoming a mentor to young people and inspiring countless lives.

In 2022, Pat joined Armfield Academy in Blackpool, where he quickly became a cherished figure among both staff and students. His warmth, humour, and positivity left a lasting impression on everyone he met, bringing encouragement and laughter to the school community and beyond.

Sadly, Patrick passed away in May this year.

To honour his memory, David and Jessica’s skydive celebrated Patrick’s adventurous spirit and they are now raising funds to help Blesma continue supporting injured veterans and their families.
