Sporting Force is a small to medium but growing charity with ambitious plans for future expansion of its services. It is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee.
Sporting Force supports the Armed Forces Community across the NE & Yorkshire from their base in Darlington, County Durham.
On site they have a Drop in Centre, Gym, Pool and Sauna.
The board of directors of the charity are also trustees of the charity. To help us grow we need experienced members of the public to join our Board of Trustees. We are particularly keen to recruit members of the regional NE & Yorkshire community who have one or more of the following skills:
- Strategic leadership
- Charity Governance
- Knowledge of the Armed Forces and the transition process.
- Marketing and PR
- HR and Staff performance
- Legal knowledge

A DBS will be required and 2 references.
The Board meet each quarter either in person or virtually with sub committees that meet when required. The Trustees are invited to charity events and formal events to promote the charity and to network but it is not mandatory. They would be welcome to accompany trips and activities to see the wonderful work we do in action.
