SSAFA – Branch Administrator

£19,553.63 per annum pro rata

16 hours per week

SSAFA Office, Northampton

Fixed term for 2 years

An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Branch Administrator in the Northampton branch of SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 73,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced administrator who will ensure the efficient day to day running of the branch office and provide support to the executive management team.  Key responsibilities will include office management and, in addition, compliance with data protection legislation, overseeing the volunteer induction process and providing administrative support to fundraising and continuation training.

Please note this role is part-time (16 hours per week) and a fixed term post for 2 years with the potential to extend.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have been educated to GCSE Level or equivalent and have proven administrative experience with strong IT skills.  You will need to be positive, forward looking and determined to bring new and effective processes to the management of the branches non-casework affairs.  You need to be a good listener and an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing and have some understanding of the challenges faced by the military and veteran community.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

No agencies please. Any unsolicited submissions from agencies will be accepted as a direct application from the candidate and no fees will be payable.
