Do you want to develop your commercial fundraising skills in a charity that is well-loved within the military community?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Fundraising Manager to join our Corporate Partnerships and Commercial team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Commercial Fundraising Manager to support, develop, and drive the commercial strategy to deliver long term sustainable income. Managing the stewardship of active commercial partnerships, whilst leading on business development to secure new partnerships. As well as identifying, exploring, and developing new opportunities for commercial products, activities, and sponsorship to drive income growth.

With a relatively new management team at the helm, you will have the opportunity to collaboratively shape the role and the wider commercial fundraising strategy as the team continues to grow and develop.

We are keen to find the right person for the role, and therefore happy to discuss flexible working patterns such as compressed hours or early/late start times. We have a remote working policy, with only occasional travel into the London office, but you are welcome to visit more frequently if that suits you better.

About the team

We are a newly restructured corporate and commercial fundraising team, in line with a new fundraising strategy. This will be an exciting time to join our busy team and help support our ambitions for further growth and development in line with the organisational strategy.

This role will be working closely with the wider fundraising directorate, plus the Marketing, Brand and Communications team.

About you

We are looking for an experienced account or business development manager in either the charity or corporate sectors. You will have excellent communication skills face to face, by phone and in writing with proven ability to inspire and engage new and existing partners through all channels, as well as developing strong working relationships with team members.

It would be great to hear from people who also have experience in innovation, product development or marketing to help us develop our wider commercial strategy and explore untapped opportunities where we can grow income and extend the SSAFA brand.

Other essential skills:

  • Research skills with the ability to identify new opportunities
  • Evidence of creative thinking and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record for collaborative working and building sustainable relationships at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
