 A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Commercial Partnerships Officer to join our expanding Commercial Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 73,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.

About the role

You will be an enthusiastic and driven fundraiser; working to grow and develop commercial fundraising opportunities at SSAFA, with a focus on Commercial Partnerships, managing and developing the existing portfolio as well as finding new opportunities. You will liaise with your colleagues across the organisation, as well as with existing external contacts and new business leads, maximising commercial income through potential partnerships.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join this department at a time of rapid growth, to work in a varied and diverse role that will generate valuable income to support the work of SSAFA.

About the team

We are small but creative and motivated commercial team who have achieved significant growth over the last 3 years; this will be an exciting time to join our busy team and help support our ambitions for further growth and development in line with the organisational strategy.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully, you will have ideally already worked within a fundraising, commercial or marketing and sales function and have a good understanding of the skills and challenges faced in such a role.

Other essential skills:

  • Research skills with the ability to identify new opportunities and develop clear responses
  • Evidence of creative thinking and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record for collaborative working and building sustainable relationships at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Track record of managing budgets and allocating resources effectively and efficiently to deliver objectives
