A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Head of PR in the Marketing and Communications department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
We are seeking a passionate and creative Head of PR to lead an enthusiastic PR team who have produced some outstanding results in a crowded sector.
We are looking for a senior level, commercially minded PR and Communications professional to shape and mould our PR and external affairs strategy. It is an exciting time to join our organisation as we embark on the next chapter in our organisational development. PR and external affairs will pay a critical part in this and the successful candidate will be a critical part of the Marketing and Communications team.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have experience in
- Developing and delivering PR and external affairs strategies to deliver corporate strategic objectives
- Achieving outstanding results in delivering impactful and creative PR and external affairs that drive profile and improve understanding of an organisation
- Managing crisis communications, including media training of senior staff
- Ensuring that the PR strategy delivers support where needed to the branch network, including liaison with regional and local media outlets.
- Managing a busy and varied press office with multiple stakeholders
- Managing external agencies to support the internal team
