About the role

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Health Visitor to be responsible for the provision of a full time Health Visiting Service within the Primary Health Care team. Together with a Health Visitor colleague and Health Visitor Assistant you will be responsible for delivering and developing health visiting within the Brunei Command. The Health Visitor works within an integrated Health and Social Care Team, alongside Medical, Nursing, Health, and Social Care professionals.

A relocation package is available for this role. This role will be fixed term for 18 months.

About the team 

The SSAFA team in Brunei consist of Health Visitors, Midwives and Social Workers supported by the provision of a visiting Speech and Language Therapist, outreach clinical supervision and support from SSAFA’s Safeguarding and Public Health Lead and is fully integrated into and located within the primary care medical centre. 

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will be a Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, with relevant post qualification experience. Experience of working within a military environment and working with a diverse population would be an advantage. You will have a good working knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding with the ability to facilitate Safeguarding Training at Level 2 and Level 3. There will be a requirement to fully engage with the routine childhood immunisation programme including delivery of vaccinations. The successful post holder will also provide advice and public health support to children up to the age of 19 years.

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:

Experience of working in a remote location, experience in decision making and audit skills and you will need to be able to work autonomously, as well as being an effective team player.
