A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Individual Giving Manager to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. The IG team has a strategic role to play in developing a sustainable fundraising model for SSAFA over the next few years. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant contribution towards that.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is the UK’s oldest tri-service charity and provides lifelong support for serving personnel, veterans and their families. About the role
We are looking for a team player with an excellent track record in individual giving fundraising, with excellent knowledge and experience of warm supporter, donor upgrade and acquisition campaigns.
You will be responsible for managing and delivering both donor retention and acquisition appeals and mailings. Working with internal colleagues in marketing, design and digital, and external suppliers, you will also be responsible for briefing and managing the creative and print production schedules; delivering high-level engagement and valuable lifetime supporter journey experiences for SSAFA supporters. You will also be responsible for the development and growth of our in-memory giving and lottery programmes.
About the team
This role sits within the Individual Giving and Legacies team. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies, you will manage a team of two – Senior Individual Giving Officer and Individual Giving Officer. You will also work closely with the Legacy team, as well as liaise with our other fundraising teams – Major Giving, Commercial and Corporate Partnerships, Events and Community – to ensure that we are maximising the supporter experience and building high-value relationships with our donors.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:
- developing and executing successful DM fundraising campaigns
- engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- building high-engagement supporter journeys
- CRM databases
- managing production schedules, including print
- working with creative and content assets.
