A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent Learning and Organisational Development Advisor to join the People team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 73,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.
About the role
Would you like to create a learning culture in SSAFA? Our organisation is ambitious and wants to develop a growth mindset within the workforce. We are seeking Learning and OD specialist who is driven, creative and willing to take up a new challenge to implement an organisation-wide learning and development plans; and work with internal and external resources to build and design L&D programs based on the needs of the organisation.
The role involves occasional travel throughout the UK and overseas, sometimes at short notice. Reporting to the Head of People and OD, you will be diplomatic, proactive and collaborative.

The team is vibrant, ambitious and hard-working. We work collaboratively, share knowledge and work with each others’ strengths to deliver a professional HR service. We are passionate advocates of consistency and fairness and empower line managers to lead and develop their teams.
This is an exciting time to join the People team as we embark on a number of varied and interesting projects.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have learning and OD experience, with a background of managing and delivering projects.
The successful applicant will be results/outcomes oriented, business value focused, will have confidence and ability to work in a range of services and will have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
This is an opportunity to expand your existing skills in this diverse environment as no two days in the office are the same!
