A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part time Personal and Family Support Worker in the Personal Support and Social Work Service North Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for a self motivated person to join our team and contribute to further development of the service.
Our Personal Support & Social Work Service RAF aims to provide a professional confidential and comprehensive range of Social Work and Welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.
You will have the opportunity to build on and develop your existing skills and knowledge base in the Health & Social Care field whilst working closely with Station Commanding Officers and their Community Support staff, as well as Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies in relation to providing welfare support to all RAF personnel, their immediate family and dependents.
Requirements
- To carry out this role successfully you will have NVQ level 3 in Social Care or equivalent.
- You will be able to manage a caseload commensurate with your professional skills and abilities, as well as to understand the need to manage your own workload and resources effectively and to practice accordingly.
- You should have excellent IT skills; be able to complete assessments, plan and deliver appropriate interventions and strategies to meet any identified need.
- You must be prepared to travel in the course of your work and a full driving licence is essential.
