A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Programme Manager to join SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity for a two-year period.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 73,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.
About the role
You will play a critical role in a very important programme, SSAFA@140 – an organisational development programme which is designed to identify, pilot and implement new ways of working across our volunteer delivered services. We are looking to redefine how the charity can continue to deliver timely, effective, personalised support to beneficiaries while also creating even more rewarding opportunities for volunteers and employees.
Your role will be to initially plan and then oversee the development of the programme with the Implementation Team.
About the team
You will be working in a newly formed project team headed up by our Programme Director who is responsible for the overall delivery of the project.
About you
To carry out this role you will have a track record of
• successfully delivering organisational development projects on-budget and on-time
• influencing a diverse range of stakeholders and co-ordinating, and
• reporting on a wide variety of actions across a truly unique organisation.
If you have first-hand experience of generating true engagement, meaningful discussion, fresh solutions and two-way consultation with any mix of volunteers, employees, beneficiaries and other stakeholders, we want to hear from you.
SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
