Job Description

About the role

The Regional Administrator is key to the efficient delivery of SSAFA’s direct welfare service to the RAF Community. You will use your skills and experience to review and co-design systems which underpin excellent, timely, service delivery.

You will be part of a regional team which covers a wide area from Anglesey in Wales to the North of Scotland.  Because of the geographical spread of offices in the team, regular travel will be required.

We are open to discussing the possibility of occasionally working from home.  Please wait until the job offer stage before asking us about flexibility, and we will explore what’s possible for the role.

About the team

We are a cohesive, friendly and well-established team of professionals who each bring their diverse life experiences to the workplace.  Your office base will be at RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire and the role will provide you with opportunities to meet, virtually and in person, colleagues at other locations and those in the wider SSAFA family.

About you

You will have experience of working in a fast paced team where the needs of the customer/service user are the priority.  Diverse experiences and transferable skills are welcomed and it will be expected that you will have confidence in your IT and people skills.  You will be keen to learn new skills within a military environment and will be motivated to develop the role alongside the existing administration staff.

About SSAFA

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing practical, emotional, and financial support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 79,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts or are still currently serving, and their families.

SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.

Diversity and Inclusion at SSAFA

SSAFA exists to support a diverse range of beneficiaries within the armed forces community, and we believe diversity within our teams is key to ensuring we can deliver our services effectively. We thrive on differences and believe it is critical to our success as a worldwide charity. SSAFA is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace that seeks to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages and sexual orientations, as well as parents, veterans, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.

SSAFA is committed to using the Disclosure & Barring Service to ensure we, as an employer, safeguard those we serve.
