SSAFA – Regional Mentoring Coordinator (East)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at SSAFA for a Regional Mentoring Coordinator to join the Specialist Services team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate coordinator with the ability to manage and support SSAFA volunteer mentors within the Eastern region of England. This role is home based with extensive travel across the area of responsibility which stretches from the Sussex Hampshire border, east to Norfolk and north to Lincolnshire, with the main area of concentration being Colchester Garrison.

As a Regional Mentoring Coordinator, you will be required to monitor and review the mentoring relationships, provide feedback and update the Head of Specialist Services with mentoring progress, developments and statistical data. The role will require you to coordinate the work of all volunteer mentors and provide support for additional training and seminars. You will also be the lead for the new mentoring transition pilot for Colchester Garrison.

To carry out this role successfully you will have a passion to work with volunteers and specialist staff. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Experience of managing volunteers is also essential. Knowledge of issues effecting service leavers, transition and WIS personnel would be an advantage.
