A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Trusts Manager to take the lead on a well established and growing Trusts fundraising programme within the dynamic Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This is an opportunity for an experienced manager to further develop a successful income stream and grow the funding pipeline helping to shape the future of the programme.
About the role
This post will take a leading role in communicating the work of SSAFA to potential and existing major charitable trust funders. It will be the strategic lead for SSAFA’s Trusts programme, overseeing the work of the wider Trusts team, including line management of a Trusts Officer.
Working within the Major Giving Team and with the Head of Major Giving, the post will focus on securing new major funding streams for the Trusts team and develop and strengthen key relationships with existing funders. The role will work closely with colleagues across the charity to identify and package funding opportunities.
The Trusts programme has had key successes recently and a vital aspect of the role will be to further develop and maximise those successes. We are looking for someone who is comfortable developing strategies and processes with a long-term view.
As the lead on a major funding stream, the post holder will enjoy working with senior staff and trustees and building relationships across the organisation. In addition, there will be opportunities to develop face to face relationships with funders through meetings, project visits and stewardship events.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of securing high value, complex grants from major funders as well as excellent research, analysis and planning skills. You will have excellent communication skills and have experience of operating at a senior level in Trust fundraising.
Experience of motivating staff to their potential and an understanding of law and best practice relating to Trust fundraising is essential. A persuasive and influential communicator, the post holder will be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload.
