Serco Group plc is the latest company to become a Corporate Partner of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
The newly established partnership between SSAFA and Serco – headquartered in Hook, Hampshire and operating nationally as well as overseas – will directly support SSAFA’s work with the whole UK military community of serving and retired personnel, and their families.
Serco recognises the value that ex-service personnel bring to its business and actively employs veterans across the business.
In fact, Serco was recently awarded third in the ranking of GREAT British Employers of Veterans, and first in its sector. This is a leading benchmark of employers delivering the most outstanding pathways and support for veterans, reservists, and military families, and reflects a genuine, measurable, and sustained commitment to the Armed Forces community in the UK.
Jenny King, Head of Corporate Engagement for SSAFA added:
“Corporate Partnerships are incredibly valuable to SSAFA as they provide life changing support to the entire Armed Forces community from the last few veterans of WWII to those who served in more recent conflicts and those serving today, regardless of ship or squadron, or rank or regiment.
“SSAFA is extremely grateful for the support and commitment from companies such as Serco, and we look forward to see what this partnership brings.”
Salli Shapcott, Director, Serco Defence, added:
“Serco’s partnership with SSAFA strengthens our commitment to supporting service personnel, veterans, and their families.
“This collaboration enhances our connection with the wider Defence community and reinforces our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant, and we are really delighted to have the opportunity to work more closely with SSAFA through joint initiatives such as volunteering, mentoring, and fundraising.”
SSAFA has been working for the whole UK Armed Forces community for 140 years and its mission is simple: to make sure no-one in the Armed Forces family ever battles alone.
