Step Together – National Volunteer Coordinator – Veterans Programme – Colchester

We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced organiser and volunteer manager to oversee the development of a pilot project to increase the use of volunteers in the delivery of Step Together’s Rehabilitation through Volunteering programme.  The programme provides in-depth support to wounded, injured and sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans across the UK to engage in community volunteering as part of their rehabilitation and recovery process.

The postholder will coordinate the recruitment, training, monitoring and supervision of volunteers from the veteran community to work directly with our WIS clients.  He/she will ensure that our processes are robust, of high quality, and deliver the right level of support to the volunteer team.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire people to get involved with our work.  With experience working with the veteran community, the successful candidate will be passionate about Step Together’s work, have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. Applicants should be comfortable with remote working, and have a valid driving licence.

£28,000 per annum.  Based in Colchester, with significant travel.
