Step Together – Support Worker – Wounded, Injured and Sick Service Personnel (Catterick)

Step Together’s Rehabilitation through Volunteering project provides in-depth support to wounded, injured and sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans across the UK to engage in community volunteering as part of their rehabilitation and recovery process.

We are seeking a Volunteering Project Manager to work directly with WIS clients in the north of England, working alongside Personnel Recovery staff and service charity representatives engaged in the WIS recovery programmes.  Through one-to-one support, group presentations, workshops, visits and follow-up coaching, the postholder will encourage and support WIS clients into volunteering placements, with the aim of enhancing confidence and personal skills and supporting a successful transition to civilian life.

The position will be based in Personal Recovery Centre in Catterick, but will involve significant travel to clients, referral agencies and recipient charities. A car will be provided for work travel.

This position requires persistence, self-motivation and determination.  The ability to relate to soldiers of both sexes and all ages is essential, with a specific focus on supporting those who have been injured on operations or in training.  Applicants should be comfortable with remote working, and have a valid driving licence.

£25,000 per annum, plus 5% matched pension contribution.
