The ASDIC difference

This week ASDIC spoke to Kate Parkin, Director – NHS Armed Forces Community, about the difference a network of drop-in centres has made on the Armed Forces community.

Kate said:

“Having ASDIC has provided a central place to find out about local Drop-Ins and ones out of area so that we can support the community to access them.

“In addition, they provide training, development and support to these Drop-ins which ensures a safer environment for the Armed Forces Community that access the support and friendship.

They are a pleasure to work with and now with the regional leads help the NHS to communicate/engage with the community better.

“ASDIC has made a great difference to us in the NHS Armed Forces Network. Having the association makes it easier for us all to find the local drop-ins. The teams and regional leads have helped with communication and safety of the AFC by upskilling and supporting the drop-ins.”
