The Contact Group (‘Contact’) is the UK-wide collaboration of statutory and non-statutory (including charity, academic and professional) organisations working to improve mental health support to the UK armed forces community including veterans, serving personnel and their families.
The Contact Group works with members, associates and partners on a number of identified priority military mental health projects. Membership of the group and engagement by member and other organisations in its collaborative work is entirely voluntary and includes all four nations.
Core member organisations include: Cobseo (the Confederation of Service Charities), Combat Stress, DHSC, Help for Heroes, Icarus, King’s College London, Ministry of Defence, NHS England, Northern Ireland Veterans’ Support Office, OVA, PTSD Resolution, Royal British Legion, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Scottish Government, Togetherall, Veteran Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (Scotland), Veterans NHS Wales, Walking With The Wounded and the Welsh Government. Contact is also the mental health cluster for Cobseo.
Membership focuses on collaborating on a number of a workstreams which support the development of military mental health treatment, policy and research in the four nations of the UK.
