Purpose of the Role
To assist the Supervisor in the management of individual projects and to organise the team in preparing and testing of electro-mechanical assemblies and cable assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor
- Ensure that Health & Safety guidelines and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Lead and motivate your project team to achieve all aspects of Quality, Cost & Delivery:
- Ensure that maximum productivity is being achieved at all times
- Ensure that downtime is kept to an absolute minimum
- Ensure that the highest quality standards are adhered to at all times
- Ensure that every effort is made to achieve delivery commitments
- Form part of the Production Assembly Team adopting a hands on approach as required
- Ensure that the team adhere to timekeeping guidelines
- Identify at the earliest opportunity where delivery commitments are at risk
- Report Daily on key QCD parameters?
- Liaise with Quality to ensure reject materials are returned to the supplier in a timely manner
- Keep stock accuracy to an absolute maximum at all times
- To ensure that housekeeping standards are kept to a maximum at all times
- Assist the Supervisor to drive Continuous Improvement activities
- Contribute to the development of existing team members and highlight training needs
- Communicate effectively with your Manager and other departments
- To adhere to the requirements of all relevant company procedures.
- To deal with any defects or defective equipment reported by the technicians.
- To carry out any additional tasks as may be reasonably requested.
- To work off-site as required for individual contracts.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to organise and motivate a small team either onsite or offsite
- Ability to read and build to technical drawings
- Flexibility to learn and acquire new skills
- Flexibility to work with minimal design definition on prototypes
- Ability to identify build related issues and feed back to Team Leader and/or Engineering
- High workmanship and attention to detail
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of/Skilled in:
- Soldering
- Wiring
- Crimping
- Electro-mechanical build
- Using technical equipment to fault find problems
- Using technical equipment to test products
Qualification:
18th Edition electrical qualification
Experience
· Minimum 2 years general experience within Production Assembly.
- At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
General
- The job holder will have a current driving licence
- Ability to be flexible and work outside core hours on occasion
- Ability to work in the UK with no restrictions
- Must meet security vetting criteria
- Participate in the performance review process, identifying development areas and strengths and undertaking continuous professional development.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities within the company
