The Poppy Factory

The Poppy Factory – Partnership and Development Manager

12 month fixed term contract

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

Location: London (Hybrid working options available)

Contract: Fixed term for 12 months

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Are you adept at building and maintaining meaningful partnerships that benefit society?  Are you creative, imaginative and experienced in developing new projects and services?  Are you passionate about facilitating positive change in the lives of veterans and their families?  If so, we are keen to hear from you.

The Poppy Factory is a unique charity, at an interesting stage of our journey and development. We’ve been helping the military family for over 100 years with employment and we’re proud of our heritage. We’re also forward-looking and always evolving to make sure we’re relevant and meeting the needs of today’s veteran community and their support networks.

This exciting new leadership position has been created to meet the needs of our developing organisation as we diversify the services that we offer and collaborate more closely with key partners. The development of our services is increasingly dependent on meaningful and productive partnerships with specialist organisations including other military charities, statutory services and the NHS. The postholder will hold many of these relationships, building trust and a shared purpose to create and maintain relevant and high-quality service provision.

The postholder will manage a portfolio of projects across Greater London as part of the Veteran’s Places, Pathways and People programme funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, aimed at improving support for veterans with mental health conditions and reduce isolation.  This postholder will also support and lead on the development and delivery of innovative new services to support the Armed Forces community.

The Partnership and Development Manager will have line management responsibility for a small, mixed disciplinary team, based remotely around the country, and will be part of the veteran’s services leadership team, jointly responsible for the ongoing development of our strategy.

We are keen to hear from people who are:

  • Highly experienced in partnership development and networking, specifically within the Armed Forces community.
  • Confident in successfully leading teams through change.
  • Experienced in managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Articulate, confident speakers, with a warm and approachable manner.
  • Creative problem solvers with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Motivated by a strong sense of shared purpose with The Poppy Factory’s mission and values.
  • If you are excited to be part of an ambitious and growing service, this could be a fantastic role for you.

We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and LGBT+ candidates as these groups are currently under-represented in our organisation.
