Gregg Stevenson recently received an MBE for Services to Rowing – an honour he describes as surreal, humbling, and deeply meaningful. A former Royal Engineer with the 24 Commando Regiment, he was medically discharged after sustaining injuries in Afghanistan.
Since then, he has dedicated his life to supporting the Armed Forces community. Now Regional Trainer for the North West of England with the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA), Gregg uses his lived experience to help shape more inclusive healthcare systems.
His NHS roles have included rehabilitation gym manager, mental health practitioner, and lived experience lead for OpCOURAGE in the North. His focus remains on ensuring veterans receive the care, dignity, and support they deserve.
In 2024, he won Paralympic gold in the PR2 mixed double rowing event in Paris. He also contributes to national strategy through roles with the Armed Forces Public Patient Voice Group, OpRESTORE, and Walking with the Wounded.
