The Role

Are you a fundraiser manager or professional looking for a rewarding senior position? A communications professional with a skill for turning insights into actionable plans? Or perhaps a product developer looking for something more strategic and dynamic?

Join our diverse and rapidly growing Innovation & Planning Team, as Head of Innovation & Planning. Leading innovation sprints, strategic portfolio reviews and pioneering insight and consumer driven fundraising initiatives, the successful candidate will work with two direct reports within a total team headcount of 6.

This position is responsible for the effective management of Fundraising innovation, communication planning and Fundraising portfolio management. The ideal candidate can expect to deliver on a range of initiatives, from unearthing insights, designing new Fundraising processes to testing communication campaigns and designing Fundraising MVPs. Working with the Innovation & Planning Manager and Supporter Communications & Planning Manager, the successful candidate can also expect to collaborate with fundraising teams, other relevant directorates and provide relevant reports to a board of directors. The candidate will lead the Innovation & Planning team to deliver financially sustainable initiatives with high consumer appeal which maximise results.

The successful candidate will contribute to and implement Fundraising’s innovation strategy, advocating the innovation work streams to senior internal and external stakeholders. As part of the innovation process, the candidate will use relevant data and insight to recommend and prioritise the focus for innovation sprints, launching new products to new audiences. with a goal of delivering sustainable income.

The successful candidate will oversee the product portfolio review process, making informed and validated recommendations to senior leadership to drive product strategies across Fundraising. The candidate will work closely with the Innovation & Planning Manger to review and optimise the portfolio review process, identifying ways to improve the methodology and data used to complete the review.

The candidate will lead the work streams that support the long-term transition from product to supporter led communication planning. Working with Fundraising Heads of Departments and the Supporter Communications & Planning Manager, the candidate will plan and prioritise the required workstreams to introduce integrated supporter communication planning, consistent communication benchmarking and reporting as well as data informed journey planning. The candidate can expect to use a range of research skills and approaches throughout all areas of the role.

You will be experienced in generating insights from data to inform recommendations, demonstrate creative approaches to problem solving as well as adopt an agile approach to project management.
