The Sandhurst Trust is a grant giving charity supporting the officer cadets, staff and families at the Royal Military Academy. It has recently taken on the role of administering support to serving and retired army officers and their dependants and is recruiting a Grants and Welfare Manager.
Principal Responsibilities:
Manage around 110 current cases with the potential to expand numbers in the future.
Organise quarterly and monthly grants and the scheduling of periodic assessments.
Manage complex referrals before allocation to volunteer case worker.
Work with other grant giving charities.
Task a network of volunteer case workers as the interface with the beneficiary.
Recruit and train new volunteers.
Principal advisor on welfare and grants to the Director.
Line manager for the Grants and Welfare Administrator.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Competencies:
- Able to work with individuals with complex needs and cope with the rigors that arise from working with veterans and their dependants.
- Highly organised with IT skills and experience of using Case Management Systems, Microsoft packages and Outlook
- Experience in soft skills: Public speaking, presentations, relationship building, and time management.
- Experience of managing volunteers.
Desirable Competencies:
- Salesforce case management system experience, this training will be provided for the successful candidate if they are not already trained.
- Experience of serving in the Armed Forces.
The role is home based, 35 hours a week with a requirement to attend occasional meetings at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which is located near Camberley, Surrey. The starting salary is £40 per annum, which is subject to an annual review. The Trust operates a pension scheme. Trust staff are entitled to 28 days paid leave per annum.
