We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us.  As the International Fund for Fishing Safety Coordinator, you will help to support the work of the Fishing Industry Safety and Health (FISH) Platform and to coordinate the promotion, outreach and delivery of an International Fund for Fishing Safety, within the boundaries established by The Seafarers’ Charity and FISH Platform’s Memorandum of Understanding.  Although international in nature, the Fund has a focus on the Global South.

This is a senior role with remote working and occasional international travel required for face to face meetings, (up to 75 days over the course of 12 months) The role is initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract and, depending on further funding being secured there is a possibility for an extension

You will be responsible for liaison between The Seafarers’ Charity and the FISH Platform, including organising and leading meetings. A key part of the role will be promoting and raising awareness of the Fund; pro-active identification of new projects for funding and to support applicants to make grant applications. You will also contribute to our goal of raising additional funding to grow the fund.

We encourage applications from all regardless of age, sexuality, socio-economic background, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, or beliefs. We are committed to building a culture of belonging and inclusion and this is reflected in our policies, practices, and diversity in maritime networks – and supported by our inclusion as a Maritime UK Diversity Charter organisation.

The post may suit someone who is looking for a portfolio career. You will play a crucial part in how we achieve our ambition of improving the safety and welfare of seafarers.  If you join us, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and be part of our success story.
