Charities and not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding to support members of the Armed Forces Community and their Families (UK only). Our next deadline for our Open Grants Programme is Monday 30th March 2026 – for a decision by end of June 2026.
We encourage early applications. Submitting ahead of the deadline helps the Grants Team plan, review your request promptly and supports us in managing any high demand.
Charities and not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £75,000 to support serving armed forces personnel, operationally qualified seafarers, and their immediate families.
The types of grants awarded include:
- Small grants of up to £5,000 to support primarily small, grassroots groups within the Armed Forces Community and to deliver community-based activities. The grant must be spent within 12 months.
- Project grants of up to £30,000 which can be awarded for between one to three years.
- Salary grants of up to £75,000 for up to three years (max £25,000 per year).
Applications to the small grants programme can be made at any time for a decision within approximately 8 weeks.
