In 2024 Vistry Group broke its charity fundraising record with SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity by raising £686,072 – more than double its target of £300,000 – and totalling more than £700,000 with Gift Aid.
Housebuilder Vistry has now added gold to its record-breaking achievement after scooping the top charity partnership spot in the Property and Construction category of the Business Charity Awards.
Vistry’s efforts strengthened SSAFA’s community outreach, created touchpoints for employment opportunities for hundreds of veterans, and recruited 12 new service volunteers to provide critical, frontline support. The partnership also expanded Vistry’s Armed Forces Network, welcoming 40 new members.
Lizzie Rossiter, SSAFA’s Corporate Account Manager, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to see Vistry’s outstanding commitment to SSAFA and the Armed Forces community recognised with this well-deserved award.
“We nominated Vistry not only to thank them for their incredible support, but also to celebrate the meaningful impact we’ve achieved together through our partnership. This recognition brings value to both organisations — it highlights the strength of our collaboration and the powerful outcomes that come from aligning business purpose with social impact. It also helps amplify the work we do and raise national awareness of the vital role corporate partners play in supporting the Armed Forces community.
“To see this partnership celebrated on a national stage is fantastic. It not only strengthens our relationship with Vistry, but sets a strong example of the positive potential of corporate partnerships with SSAFA in the future.”
For Vistry, its Charity Committee Chair, Penelope Hill, commented:
“As an Armed Forces Covenant Signatory and awarded gold status in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, Vistry has strong links with the military community, and it was brilliant to see this bond grow through our 2024 partnership with SSAFA.
“We’re delighted that this was recognised through the Business Charity Awards. Winning this accolade is testament to all the effort and support shown throughout the year from our colleagues, partners, and supply chain and we extend our thanks to all of them.
“Colleagues demonstrated a real passion for the charity, with a wide variety of activities taking place to not only raise vital funds, but to also raise awareness of SSAFA’s fantastic work.
“It was a privilege to have SSAFA as our charity partner and develop Vistry’s commitment to the Armed Forces.”
