We’re a small, friendly team but our reputation is growing along with the number of veterans we look after. Now we need a highly-organised, experienced fundraiser to help maintain the flow of finance for our ambitious portfolio of projects.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be part of the senior management team  overseeing and taking responsibility for the charity’s fundraising operations. You’ll work closely with the operations team to identify needs and close gaps in financial provision.

As a member of the Senior Management Team you will work closely with CEO on the future direction of the charity providing guidance and insight on funding implications where possible.

Duties for this role will include:
• Researching and identifying potential funders, building relationships on behalf of the charity, overseeing all funding applications ensuring the quality of presentation and the realism of bids.
• Building relationships with funders, keeping records and copies of all bids, acknowledging gratitude for successful applications and overseeing the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on all projects and grants.

Desirable for this role:
• Experience of fundraising for the charity sector and an understanding of the bidding and reporting process. Good contacts in the funding sector (or the ability to make them) will be an advantage.
• A high standard of writing, presentation and verbal communication skills supported by good literacy and numeracy.
• Meticulous organisation, efficiency and a keen eye for detail.
• An understanding of the mental health and social needs of veterans.
• Good IT competency – and the ability to learn more.
• A thick skin, a sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic adult safeguarding course and a DBS check.
