Veterans Outreach Support – Project Assistant

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

VOS has been operating in Portsmouth since 2008, to provide Welfare, Wellbeing and Clinical support to veterans of all the UK Armed Forces, the Merchant Marine, and their families.  It provides monthly Drop-Ins in Portsmouth and Isle of Wight that offer a wide range of support from housing, employment, financial, legal, and a variety of social interventions alongside clinical mental health triage, which you would be part of.  In 2017 the charity was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service and is a member of Cobseo, the Confederation of Service Charities.

Veterans Places, Pathways, And People (VPPP) Programme South-East

The VPPP program in the South-East is managed by Veterans Outreach Support. The purpose of the program is to bring together a portfolio of veteran’s support projects that will take an informed approach across their country or region. They will ensure that there are connected pathways which work well for veterans; that there are safe places for veterans to go which connect into these pathways; and that volunteers and staff who support veterans have access to training and work closely with other organisations within veterans’ mental health pathways.

In the South-East there are 9 partners managed by the Portfolio Manager, who is located with Veterans Outreach Support.

As a part of this program, VOS is committed to identifying all organisations across the South-East offering services or support that veterans might need to access at some time in their lives. It is the intention to collate this information in an easily accessible format that can be accessed by veterans and support charities alike.
