Embedded in Primary Care and Community Health Teams, you will be delivering employment support to clients in parallel to the health treatment being delivered by NHS clinicians. Working intensively with a maximum caseload of 25-30 clients who have a health condition which impacts on their ability to gain work, assisting them to obtain and sustain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals, following the eight principles of IPS. Meeting and exceeding performance targets for referrals, employer engagement, job starts and sustainment, in compliance with contractual guidelines and quality procedures.
You will be the sole Veteran IPS specialist and will receive referrals from across the region. You will work closely with other IPS workers who are delivering the same service to non-veterans.
The programme is a Randomised Control Trial (RCT), which means that all individuals referred into the trial will be randomly allocated to either a treatment group or a control group, therefore Employment Specialists must adhere to the trial protocol and guidelines.
If you are an experienced Employment Specialist with an understanding of working with more complex clients we would like to hear from you. You should fully appreciate the patience, resilience and self-motivation that are required to support a dispersed and diverse caseload of complex individuals. You must be someone who is able to work independently, particularly in managing your time and caseload, whilst recognising that you are one crucial element of a wider team of support who will need to work collaboratively to get the best outcome for clients. Experience of working with veterans would be beneficial although not essential. And knowledge and experience of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) method of working would be welcomed.
Applications should be submitted to employment@wwtw.org.uk.
