Andrea Farrell, a broker in the Corporate Division of Lark Insurance who are one of The Not Forgotten Association’s major corporate supporters, is taking part in the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon to raise funds for the charity.
Explaining what inspired her to take on this challenge, Andrea said: “I became aware of the NFA’s work through my participation on the charity committee at Lark Group, as they are our company chosen charity. I’ve also been lucky enough to attend some of their events and met some of the service men/women that have been supported by the charity, and hearing how the fantastic work they do can make such a difference to their lives is so inspiring. Particularly when I hear how some of the wounded or disabled service men/women take on gruelling challenges themselves to raise money. It puts any struggles I’m having with my training into perspective.
I have many friends and family that have a military background, including my grandfather who was an RAF pilot during WWII and my partner used to serve in the Army, so this charity and the work they do hold a special place in my heart.”
