Royal Navy sailors and their families welcomed Minister for Welfare Delivery Caroline Nokes to Portsmouth on Thursday. The minister visited HMS Excellent and HM Naval Base Portsmouth, which house the Naval Headquarters and front-line training units that prepare personnel for life at sea. She then went aboard HMS Iron Duke, a Type 23 frigate which recently returned from a NATO exercise in the Baltic Sea. Later she met the Naval Families Federation to talk to serving personnel and their families about government support available to them and to hear about Naval family life.
