The Ripple Pond is a unique charity. It provides support to the loved ones of serving and retired military personnel. These loved ones can be family members, parents, partners, carers; indeed anyone who loves someone who has served, or is still serving, with HM Forces. All too often, a physical injury, a mental health issue, a severe illness, or just Service life, can cause stress or suffering, and The Ripple Pond strives to relieve this.
The Ripple Pond is governed by a Board of Trustees. Day-to-day operations are managed by a Chief Executive and a small team of staff based in an office in Aldershot, Hampshire.
The Ripple Pond is not a grant-making charity. Its annual running costs are approx. £125k. The accounts are maintained by the Chief Executive.
Following the retirement of its previous Treasurer, the Board is seeking a new trustee who can take on this role. The Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee which provides financial oversight and guidance to the Chief Executive, as well as back into the Board. The Treasurer also has financial authority delegated from the Board. The ideal candidate would therefore have a strong financial background.
The Board meets quarterly (usually face-to-face, in Aldershot or London) and the Finance Committee typically meets via video conference prior to these meetings
The tenure for this trustee role would be for an initial period of three years. The Board would like to appoint someone as soon as possible and ideally before end-November 2019.
