The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army’s national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families, in times of need. The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.
The Engagement Officer role is a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible team in our South East Regional Office providing support to the local Regional Director (RD) in the delivery of required outputs relating to engagement and fundraising. This will be achieved through engagement with a range of audiences, highlighting the work of the charity, and establishing and maintaining relationships with, among others, veterans, local Army and Army Cadet units and local corporate partners. It also involves helping our volunteer fundraisers, as well as assisting with the delivery of fundraising events and other Charity activities, and occasionally leading on developing new fundraising ideas. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be well organised and have an easy yet confident manner.
The starting salary is £32,500. After a probationary period of 6 months, the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity’s full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension. There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week, on an initial two-year fixed term contract based at the Charity’s Office at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Camberley (the Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office).
