About the role

The Foreign and Commonwealth Assistant, is a key and busy role, working in support of AFF’s Foreign and Commonwealth Specialist and F&C families. Working within a small team, the primary function of this role is to act as the first point of contact for all foreign and commonwealth soldiers and their families who have an immigration related enquiry or issue.  Communication is via email only and you will be required to respond appropriately and within a set timescale

The vacancy is home-based (see below for location information), with occasional travel to Central Office and meetings as required. The post is part-time with flexible hours (20 per week) and paid on an hourly basis.

The successful candidate must be willing to study for a Level 1 qualification with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) – more information is provided in the job description.

As we aim to respond to enquiries within a set timescale, strong time management skills are essential, with the capacity to prioritise workload accordingly.
