Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is excited to announce Babcock International as the headline sponsor of our nationwide fundraising challenge, Race Across the UK.
From today, Tuesday 2 September to Friday, 5 September 2025, participants will take on the ultimate test – travelling from Edinburgh to Dartmouth using only traditional navigation, teamwork, and what they can carry. No GPS. No shortcuts. Just determination, instinct, and a mission to make a difference.
Serving personnel, civilians, friends and colleagues are ready for an adventure like no other! Twenty-four teams will face the elements, challenge their limits, and raise vital funds to support serving Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, veterans, and their families.
Open to all, Race Across the UK is not just a physical challenge – it’s a test of determination, creativity, and resilience. It invites participants to push themselves to the limit while helping to build a future where no Naval family faces hardship alone.
In announcing Babcock as the lead sponsor, the charity highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in delivering meaningful support to the Naval community.
John Howie, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Babcock International said:
“We’re pleased to be further supporting Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity as headline sponsor of their Race Across the UK challenge. With the race spanning the UK, from Edinburgh to Dartmouth, it touches on so many of the communities we’re proud to be part of. Good luck to all the teams taking part.”
Sam Nicolson MBE, Interim CEO of RNRMC said:
“Race Across the UK is a bold, brilliant idea and we’re thrilled to have Babcock as our headline sponsor. This is more than a race, it’s about challenging yourself, building bonds, and making a real difference for our Naval families.”
The teams met at the Scott Monument in Edinburgh at 08h00 this morning and found themselves unlocking their first clue!
You can follow their journey, cheer them along and support their fundraising goals. Every step they take brings us closer to ensuring every sailor, marine and their families are supported – for life.
