Most of us grow up with 5 senses and can’t imagine what it’s like to lose any one of those.
For some ex-service people, this is their reality. Suddenly their whole way of life is changed, even walking to the shops becomes a huge task.
Fortunately, Blind Veterans are here to help rebuild their lives. But they can’t do it alone.
This is where you come in.

You’ll be involved in all things maintenance, from general building and equipment upkeep to installations, fault finding and alterations. You’ll even maintain documentation and ensure we are H&S compliant and up to date with legislation.
You’ll work alongside a variety of other teams and be focused on positive collaboration as well as involving yourself with Blind Veterans UK’s volunteer offering and beneficiary engagement in the planning of the grounds.
You’ll be a proactive, trade-qualified maintenance professional with a solid understanding of electrical works and a basic electrical qualification in minor works or accessories replacement (or the willingness to obtain this). Awareness of COSHH, Legionella, Asbestos and Manual Handling gained from experience or formal training is essential, as is a full, valid driving licence.
Knowledge of basic gardening is very advantageous to this role.
