BRAVO VICTOR is a new research charity developed from our Sister charity, Blind Veterans UK (BVUK).  Our research programme has been underway since 2017 as part of BVUK, but we become independent in 2021.  We conduct biomedical, social and welfare and innovation research in support of blind and visually impaired veterans and wider humanity.

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised Executive Officer to provide a high quality, flexible, reliable, self-reliant and confidential service to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and the Director of Development (DD).  This role would suit someone who has the ability/resources to work from home and enjoys the flexibility of homeworking and frequent travel to other locations.

The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing and professional, with a flexible and proactive approach and an ability to pre-empt requirements and issues and offer solutions.  You’ll be skilled at project management and managing and prioritising a varied and pressured workload. A highly effective and professional communicator, you’ll have a natural ability to adapt your style to a variety of situations and people and work to three executives at the same time. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data, information management, website and social media management (not system design) are essential and a good understanding of corporate / charity governance is useful.

This role is a 1 year Fixed Term Contract (with the possibility to be extended).

The job involves:

Ensuring that the Executive Office is run efficiently and seamlessly, providing general administrative and secretarial support including: detailed and complex diary management and forecasting to ensure forward planned and efficient use of time; letter writing; tracking and management of papers; meeting set up, support and minute taking; report/presentation preparation; advance planning; event/project support and working closely with the Executive to ensure clarity of communication and understanding.

Project management of the charity’s communications programme including management and updating of the website and social media channels.

Regular interaction with our Trustees and liaison with, and management of, external relationships on behalf of all three Executive posts.  This will include high profile, political, commercial and donor individuals and organisation both in the UK and overseas.

Proactive planning and management of the CSO’s diary and expenses and assisting the COO and DD as required; plan, administer and manage events as required.
