NHS England has appointed St Andrew’s Healthcare as the provider for the NHS Veterans’ Mental Health Complex Treatment Service in the East of England and the East Midlands, and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust as the provider of this service in the West Midlands.

“Since the publication of the Armed Forces Mental Health Strategy 2011, the mental health and wellbeing of our Defence People has been a subject of substantial investment and focus. At the time of writing it is extremely newsworthy and it seems everybody has something to say about it.
RAF Chaplain, Padre Michael Chatfield has certainly gone the extra mile to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund. Not only has he decided to run the race in a penguin outfit, he had to extend his time on the Falkland Islands to do it!
Padre Michael is usually found working at RAF Odiham, having been posted there in June 2016, but was deployed for a four-month tour in November. He has chosen to take some of his post-deployment leave on the Falklands so he can compete in the Stanley Marathon and fundraise for the RAF’s leading welfare charity.

The charity is looking for prospective new volunteers to support the Regional Fundraising Team in a variety of different activities and roles within the area. With an extensive range of upcoming events, the charity is particularly on the lookout for volunteers to assist with manning stalls, taking registrations, promoting events and much, much more to be revealed on the day.

Ken served in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for 4.5 years before he left the service in 1977. After his army career Ken and his wife Gina successfully ran their own pub. Unfortunately, in 2008 Gina had an accident and developed Myelopathy, a degenerative neurological condition related to the spinal cord, which leaves her in a lot of pain.
