Christmas cheer for veterans at Entrain Space

Veterans living at Entrain Space, the veterans’ campus at the former Erskine Barracks in Wilton, enjoyed a meaningful and well-supported Christmas thanks to the generosity of Kingman’s Traditional Butchers in Amesbury and the Veterans Charity, both of whom played key roles in helping make this year’s festivities possible.

Kingman’s Traditional Butchers, an independent family business owned by Dave – a veteran of the Royal Navy himself – and Deb Parker, donated 40 bags of Christmas dinner goodies for Entrain Space residents, packed with top-quality meat, produce and a Christmas pud. This thoughtful gift ensured no veteran missed the opportunity to prepare themselves a delicious Christmas dinner in their own flats.

And, for the second year running, The Veterans Charity joint-funded the Entrain Space Christmas dinner so residents could come together for a shared meal during what can be a difficult time of year for many veterans. The traditional dinner with all the trimmings was served on-site by the Entrain Space team on Christmas Eve, following the annual Christmas Quiz. For many veterans at Entrain Space, these moments of community camaraderie are just as important as the practical support they receive throughout the year.

Kenny Brown, Veterans’ Ambassador at Entrain Space said:

“Christmas can be a challenging time for many of the veterans we support, so being able to offer both a shared celebration and the means for everyone to enjoy their own Christmas dinner is incredibly important. We are extremely grateful to The Veterans Charity for once again supporting our Christmas meal, and to Kingman’s Traditional Butchers for their incredible generosity and continued support of our residents.”
