Continuing to provide help and support to former officers, our Benevolence team share their top three stories

The OA’s Benevolence Department continues to focus on providing financial support and advice to former Officers and their dependants throughout the UK and overseas. The work carried out by our Benevolence team is of enormous value to the OA community and it is during our proudest moments that we look to the power of social media and its undeniable influence, to spread the word about what we do and why it’s so important to all at the OA.

Continuing to inform and inspire our social media following, below are just a few examples of the  OA’s most popular case studies to date…

28th JanEx RAF Officer Bryony, sustained a spinal injury several years ago but has worked incredibly hard to maintain her independence despite this. The OA provided Bryony with a grant towards a high specification lightweight wheel chair, enabling her to have a great deal more mobility to participate in the daily activities most take for
granted. Bryony rides with the Riding Disabled Association and also attends the local stables to ride and enjoy the carriage events and equestrian activities. But most importantly, the wheelchair has enabled her to regain outdoor independence. As Bryony served in the Royal Air Force, the OA were able to secure additional funding from RAF Benevolent Fund.
