Dame Agnes Weston’s Royal Charity for the Naval Service appoints Andy Gordon as Chief Executive Officer

Dame Agnes Westonʼs Royal Charity for the Naval Service (Aggieʼs) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Gordon as its new Chief Executive Officer. Andy has served as Interim CEO since October 2025, guiding the charity with clarity, compassion and steady leadership following a period of transition for the organisation.

The Board of Trustees recognises Andyʼs deep commitment to Aggie Westonʼs, to the Naval Service, and to the beneficiaries at the heart of the charityʼs work, and is pleased to confirm his permanent appointment to the role.

Since stepping into the interim position, Andy has provided continuity and clear direction, supporting the development of pastoral provision across Naval bases and championing the charityʼs commitment to personnel and their families. Under his leadership, Aggieʼs has continued to honour its 1876 roots while positioning the charity for a sustainable and impactful future as it  approaches its 150th anniversary in 2026.

Andy brings a wealth of lived experience to the role, having served in the Royal Navy. His deep understanding of Naval life — including its unique  pressures, culture and demands — underpins his commitment to ensuring that those who serve, and the families who stand beside them, are supported with professionalism, empathy and  practical care.

Andy Gordon said:

“It is a profound privilege to lead a charity with such a rich heritage and enduring purpose. For nearly 150 years, Aggie Westonʼs has stood alongside the Naval Family with compassion and practical support. I am honoured to continue that legacy, working with our dedicated staff and Trustees to ensure we remain responsive, relevant and deeply connected to the communities we  serve.ˮ

Chair of Trustees, Captain Paddy Allen RN (Retired), added:

“Aggieʼs has stood alongside the Naval community since 1876, and we take that responsibility seriously. In Andy we have a Chief Executive who understands our heritage, but equally understands the demands of todayʼs Naval Service. Over recent months he has brought calm, clarity and a steady hand to the organisation. The Board is confident in his leadership and proud to confirm him in post as we look ahead to our 150th anniversary.ˮ

The Board has expressed its sincere appreciation for Andyʼs leadership over the past six months, noting the calm stability and direction he has brought to the organisation during a time of change.

As Aggie Westonʼs looks ahead to its 150th anniversary celebrations in 2026, Andyʼs appointment marks an important milestone in the charityʼs ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing and resilience of the Naval Family across the UK.
